We hope that everyone is enjoying their long weekend. There will be no school tomorrow in observance of President's Day.
We are quickly moving through the month of February. Even though this week will be a short week, we have many events going on with the kickoff of Spring Sports.

Academic Decathlon Banquet
The West Ranch Academic Decathlon team attended the Los Angeles County Academic Decathlon Awards Banquet on Thursday, February 13th at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. This year, the Decathletes were challenged with the theme: Our Changing Climate. Our West Ranch team finished 10th overall and 2nd overall for most improved scores (+11,204). Individually, students were also recognized at the banquet for their individual performances. Congratulations to the West Ranch Decathletes.

Attendance Office reminders: Student Early Release
Parent/Guardians should email, call or have the student submit a note to the Attendance Office to request an early release. All messages must have the following information:
- Student name
- Date & time of release
- Reason for release
- Name of person picking up student if not parent or guardian
- Parent / Guardian name
All requests for early release must be made at least thirty (30) minutes in advance of the requested release time.
- Students will not be released during the last fifteen (15) minutes of any class period.
- Students will not be released during the last thirty (30) minutes of the school day.
- Requests for early release during the student lunch hour requires the parent/guardian to physically sign the student out from the Attendance Office. Please reference the bell schedule for student lunch times.
