Good afternoon Wildcats,
I hope you are enjoying the weekend! We had a great turn out at Open House and West Ranch appreciates all of the families who were able to make it. Our students did an amazing job showcasing their many talents and our staff engaged in rich conversations regarding student learning.
A few weeks ago I shared information with you regarding the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). This week, our 11th graders will begin the Science Assessment on Tuesday, March 25th. Please make sure to make a note of the special bell schedule for that day. All 11th graders will report to school at 8:30am while all 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students report to school at 10:30am for that day. Later in the week, 11th graders will then begin the English Performance Task in their English classes with their teachers. A school's scores on these tests are the biggest factors determining a school's ranking, which colleges look at when they are considering students for admission.
Thus, a strong performance on the CAASPP is absolutely pivotal in keeping our school ranking strong and giving our students the best chance to get into the top colleges. Math Open At West Ranch (MOAWR)
We had the MOAWR last week, bringing back a great tradition after a year off, and it went great! There were approximately 25 students from all grade levels and math levels that came by to compete in a math competition! The winners for the gift cards were Sathvik A., Elzat P., Elliot L., Kai T., Jessica J., and Ian L., but everyone left with a sense of accomplishment and small prizes! Congrats to everyone who competed!

Attention Parents of Seniors! $$$ Scholarship Opportunity $$$
If you are a member of the California School Employees Association, Chapter 349 (Wm. S. Hart Classified Staff), your senior may be eligible for a $300 scholarship! These scholarships can be applied toward vocational/technical schools, 2-year or 4-year colleges, or universities.
Application Deadline: March 28, 2025
Students must submit their completed applications to the counseling office

- The West Ranch Science department had the opportunity to showcase the hands-on lab activities they conduct in their classes at Open House. In order to stay cutting edge at WR and provide hands-on activities for our students, we need community support in the form of donations to order our consumables. - The West Ranch PAC is gearing up for our annual Spring cleaning Clothing & Shoe Drive Fundraiser. As we get closer to Spring Break, please consider keeping your gently used clothes and shoes to drop off at West Ranch 4/21 through 4/26. See attached for more information.
