Principal’s Message: November 9, 2025

Good afternoon Wildcats,

We hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. We would like to remind everyone that there is no school Tuesday November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. Thank you to all of our alumni, parents and staff members who served our country.

We want to recognize and commend our students for all of their academic efforts so far this year! It's truly inspiring to visit classrooms and see the depth of learning happening daily. From engaging in complex classroom discussions to hands-on activities like dissections, our students are actively working with staff to tackle challenging problems, increase their knowledge, and meet their academic goals. With that being said, students will see where they stand this Friday as Q2 progress grades are finalized. These grades will be available in the Parent Portal on Tuesday, November 18th.

This week our Parent Advisory Council will meet at 6pm in the WR Library. Join us for an update from our PAC executive board, Safety update from Assistant Principal Dr. Kim, and information about Child and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) from the Director of Therapeutic Counseling Dr. Betty.

Not that anyone is counting, but we are only 9 school days away from Thanksgiving Break. There will no school for the week of November 24th through 28th. Have a wonderful week!

Sincerely,
Robert Fisher
Principal, West Ranch High School

PSAT Scores are now available

Many of our students did exceptionally well this year. We had one student score a 1500, five students score 1480, and three students come in at 1470. Overall all students did very well and we had really impressive performances across the board!

Important Information regarding UC admissions
The Counselors wanted to share a great video that was produced by the University of California. There is so much information out there when it comes to college admissions. This video shares what is good advice and what is NOT good advice straight from the admissions officers perspective.

UC admissions reacts to TikTok application advice

There is a lot of information circulating on social media regarding admission to UC, and it can be tough for students to sort through what’s credible and true. One of our UC admission directors sat down to share his feedback on some of this viral online advice, helping clarify what’s fact versus fiction.
